MLAs of Khundrakpam, Lamlai assure to work collectively

Imphal East - I CD Block, Sawombung which had been shifted and attached to the Imphal East DC Complex, Porompat for the past many years has been relocated today to its original office building at Sawombung near Biramongol College.
A homecoming ceremony of the office was held today at the Sawombung Community Hall near the Imphal East - I CD Block office.
The ceremony was graced by Lamlai AC MLA, Kh Ibomcha, Imphal East ADM Polem Lenin, Khundrakpam AC MLA, Th Lokeshwar and Imphal East - I CD Block, Sawombung BDO, H Jadumani as the presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Kh Ibomcha expressed satisfaction at being able to fulfill his promise of bringing back the CD Block to its original location at Sawombung within a short span after being elected as the MLA.
He further lauded Chief Minister N Biren and all the authorities concerned for readily accepting his approach to relocate the CD Block by considering the inconveniences faced by the people of Lamlai AC and Khundrakpam AC after it was shifted to Porompat.
Saying that legislators need to leave aside the differences and work under common interests when it comes to public welfare and development, the MLA assured that he will endorse in making collective effort with the Congress MLA of Khundrakpam AC in carrying forward the CD Block which covers both the said Assembly Constituencies.
Asserting that many people in his Constituency who deserve to enroll under certain categories like BPL and AAY had been left out in the census report, Kh Ibomcha said that such mistakes in the past created problems in delivering the benefits of Governmental schemes to the rightful people.
He went on to appeal to the people of the Constituency to understand the importance of enrolling themselves in the right categories at the time of making the census so that they could reap all the rightful benefits of the Governmental schemes.
While highlighting the new projects and schemes that are on the pipeline, the Lamlai AC MLA conveyed that a sub-station of Manipur Fire Service will be stationed at Sawombung besides opening banks of PNB, SBI and MSCB at Sawombung, Lamlai and Yaingangpokpi respectively.
He also informed that he has already nominated a few persons to work in line with a Central Government's initiative of setting up a mega handloom cluster at Nongpok Kakching in recognition of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu's achievement in the last Tokyo Olympic.
The MLA added that he has the vision for implementing many other developmental works, including human resource development in his Constituency, saying that legislators are not meant only for fulfilling mere jobs like ration card distribution.
While speaking at the occasion, Th Lokeshwar mooted the idea of working together with Lamlai AC MLA for repairing/constructing roads, educational institutions and other infrastructures which are commonly important to the people of Lamlai and Khundrakpam ACs besides for the progression of Imphal East - I, CD Block, Sawombung.
Continuing that the road leading from Sawombung to Sagolmang is in a deplorable state as the Government has been neglecting it for long time despite taking up the matter in the State Assembly sessions several times, Lokeshwar sought support from the Lamlai AC MLA to urge the State Government for repairing the road.
He also appealed to the Lamlai AC MLA to make joint endeavours with him for the improvement of Biramangol College and Sawombung High School.
The MLA also underscored the importance of making cordial relationships between the local MLAs and representatives of local bodies to work together in bringing development in the two Constituencies which fall under the Imphal East - I, CD Block, Sawombung.
