KSO units for status quo in Loikhai areas

Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Henglep has appealed to all concerned, valley based individuals and groups in particular, to respect the sentiments and aspirations of people settling in Loikhai (Thangting) areas so as to uphold peace and communal harmony and promote a socially just and equitable society.
In a release, KSO Henglep Block information and publicity wing said it is perturbed by the frequent attempts to create a chaotic, irrational and unsolicited activities in and around Loikhai areas by the valley based individuals and groups.
"It is unethical and unbecoming of any individual, group or society to conduct activities of any sort without taking due consent of the local populace or the chief(s) .
As such, any activities whether it benefit the locals or the general public as a whole may not be carried out without the participation and informed consent of the local settlers failing which it shall be deemed a direct challenge and infringement on the rights of the indigenous tribal settlers", said the release, adding that the appeal is being made on behalf of Kuki people residing in Loikhai area, near Mount Koubru, under Churachandpur district.
