All the members of the Academic Council of Manipur University have decided to resign en masse and stay away from the Academic Council as long as current Vice Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey continues to hold the post of Academic Council Chairman.
A meeting was scheduled between the VC and HoDs and Deans at 2.30 pm today but the VC did not turn up at the scheduled time as he was busy interacting with some students.

On the other hand, a joint meeting was held between the VC and representatives of JSCC, MUSU and JAC Against Implementation of State Reservation Policy in Admission in Manipur University in the office chamber of the VC at 4 pm today.
At the end of the meeting, an MoU was signed to the effect that the resolution of the Academic Council meeting held on October 8 shall remain as it is and can be amended only by another Academic Council resolution in the light of the orders of competent authority/Court.
The MoU clarified that 31 per cent seats reserved for ST students shall be out of the initial intake capacity in various departments as specified in the prospectus.
It further stated that the resolution adopted at the meetings of HoDs and Deans on November 7 and subsequent meeting resolutions shall be followed.
