Sit-in protest staged, rally on Nov 10

Condemning the remarks of Union Minister of State Vijay Goel over the establishment of National Sports University at Yaithibi Loukol, a sit-in protest was staged by United Organisation, Kakching at Naohanlai Lampak, Kakching Keithel, reports our correspondent.
A public meeting was also held.
Speaking at the meeting, United Organisation, Kakching co-convenor N Ramshor stated that officials under the direction of the Central Government had visited Yaithibi Loukol numerous times and inspected the site afterwhich the site was finally approved for setting up of National Sports University.

However, Union Minister of State Vijay Goel who visited the State said that the site is not suitable and that is something the people of Manipur cannot accept, he said. He added that United Organisation, Kakching will begin launching intense agitation unless the Centre assured to construct the sports university at Yaithibi Loukol. He further stated that the meeting has resolved to ban imposed on residents of Sora will be lifted till November 15 .
He also said that a mass rally till Yaithibi Loukol will be taken out on November 10 at 11 am and urged the people to support and take part in the rally.
