Petrol stock dips to zero

Imphal, November 08 2016:
Consequent upon suspension of fuel transportation for more than 10 days on account of economic blockades, stock position of petrol at IOC's Chingmeirong depot has dipped to nil.
Till this morning, there were 44 Kls of petrol at the depot and all the 44 Kls were supplied to retail outlets today itself.
The ROs to which petrol was issued from the depot today were PCTC Khoyathong (12Kl), Tuks and Bonds (4 Kl), Government oil depot (4 Kl), Motor Service Moirang (8 Kl), United Brothers Chingmeirong (4 Kl), K Nilo Langjing (4 Kl), Tiddim Service Station (4Kl) and KSK Kakching (4 Kl), informed a source.
These ROs are likely to distribute petrol to public tomorrow.
It is reported that petrol will no longer be available at ROs from November 10 .
Meanwhile, altogether 143 oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers are stranded at Khatkhati, Assam on account of the ongoing economic blockade.
The stranded vehicles include 43 tankers loaded with 636 Kls of petrol, 56 tankers loaded with 896 Kls of diesel, 38 bullet tankers loaded with 266 metric tonnes of LPG, six tankers loaded with 72 Kls of SK Oil and two tankers loaded with 40 Kls of ATF.
Taking serious note of the unfolding situation, high ranking State Government officials and IOC officials have discussed about escorting the stranded vehicles up to Imphal.
In addition to the ongoing economic blockade of the UNC, there is a possibility of another economic blockade in Sadar Hills area.
As such, the Government would be sending adequate strength of security forces to escort the stranded oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers up to Imphal.
