UPF briefs status of political talk

In the backdrop of the UPF and KNO entering the second round of tripartite talk, the Zomi Re-unification Organisation (ZRO), a member of the UPF today hosted a public briefing on the current political status of tribals in Manipur at Simte Inn.
Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, who was accompanied by several Bodo leaders also addressed the meeting along with leaders from the UPF.
The Bodo MP was accompanied by Bodoland Speaker Ttidip Daimary, Dy Speaker, Nerswm Boro, Bijit Narzary, MCLA Bodoland, Samnath Basumatry, gen secy Youth Bodoland Peoples Front; Jwosrang Boro, secretary District Bodoland Peoples Front; Kamal Uzir, general secy Block BPF and Amit Boro, chairman of Village Council.
While UPF leaders briefed the public on the intricate steps it has taken so far, acknowledged the support and co-operation it has received from the public for the unprecedented progress in the political dialogue and highlighted what it said are the ways ahead.
The Bodo team that address the meeting also highlighted their experience in negotiating with the Government and advised the public as well as the armed groups on its future course of action.
They also asserted that an amalgamated stand from all stakeholders is always critical to any political talks.
Leaders from the MTFD including Romeo Hmar and Dr Lamkhanpiang also addressed the gathering.
