RK Nokulsana passes away

Rajkumar Nokulsana, a pioneer entrepreneur of Manipur who left a white collar job to establish 'The Little Industries' in 1969 died Tuesday due to a chronic ailment at his residence at Sagolband Bijoygovind.
He was 75.He is survived by his four sons and two daughters.
After graduation in 1963, he was appointed as an Inspecting and Auditing Officer and resigned in 1969 to establish a small scale industrial unit in the non-industrial State of Manipur in manifold works ranging from painting and designing to photography, photo engraving & printing, woodcrafts and plastic industries.
For the first time, during the year 1981-82 he produced the great Manipuri Epic "Khamba and Thoibi" as an illustrated classics; and then, manufactured plates for epics "Tonu Laijing Lembi and Kadeng Thangja Hanba" and "Hirachandra" .
Nokulsana was regarded as a pioneer of small scale industries in Manipur by the Government of Manipur.
Moreover, he had done innumerable works of the Government in the field of visual publications.
His craftsworks also appeared in the State and National level during 1986 .
For his attributes and aspirations as an industrialist, Government of India recognized him and his services by conferring the National Award SSE in 1984.Besides he bagged many laurels like the prestigious Udyog Patra Award, IMM-BATA Marketing Award, Udyog Alankar, Udyog Shiromani, IBC Man of Post Independence Era, etc.
Nokulsana was also felicitated by the then Governors of Manipur, SMH Burney and Gen KV Krishna Rao, Chief Minister of Assam PK Mahanta, Chief Ministers of Manipur RK Jaichandra and Rishang Keishing.
He appeared in many National papers, journals, newsletter, books of records and profiles.
From reviewing all his past pioneering activities and records he has got a good place in the pages of "International Biographies" and "International Directory of Distinguished Leadership".
He was also awarded "Man of the Year 1996" by ABI Research Institute, United States of America.
In 2012 he published his biography 'Khangbidraba Punshi Wari � A Journey from Anonymity to Recognition' .
In promoting Manipuri cinema, Nokulsana set up an audio-visual communication studio and laboratory named 'Haripriya Studios' in 1988 .
Nokulsana also designed the model of Old Manipur Legislative Assembly building in 1986 .
