Mayanglambam Rajkumar proves 'failure' is the key to success

It was in the year 2013 when Mayanglambam Rajkumar failed to get selected in the civil services examination (main) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) .
"Undeterred by the failure, I was deeply involved in hard work, dedication, proper planning and execution in study," Rajkumar who achieved 500th rank in the prestigious civil services examination 2015 told Hueiyen Lanpao on Tuesday.
Five candidates from the State attained success in the UPSC Exam 2015 .

The other four are Sanjenbam Sadananda Singh (732), Kriti Das Thokchom (816), Ruveda Salam (878) and Rajeev Kumar Yengkhom (1080) .
Rajkumar, son of Mayanglambam Kunjaraj and Madhumani , is a resident of Kakching Turel Wangma in Thoubal district.
His father is a professor at Central Agricultural University, Eroishemba and the mother is working as a teacher under SCERT, Manipur.
He passed matriculation examination from Sainik School, Imphal.
Rajkumar managed to score 98.4 percent marks in the CBSE Class X examination 2007.He did his secondary education from SBOA School & Junior College, Chennai.
In the Class XII exam he got 97.4 percent marks after which he completed graduation in B-Tech Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay.
Rajkumar whose hobby is painting and calligraphy expressed hope that he may be able to get into the IAS.
He promised that he will work hard with utmost sincerity and dedication for the people and bring a peaceful and prosperous State.
"I would like to credit my success to all my teachers, family, relatives, friends, elders and well wishers," Rajkumar stated.
The annual civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC in three stages � preliminary, mains and interviews � to select candidates for the elite services.
The preliminary examination was conducted on August 24 last year at 2,137 venues across the country.
About 9.45 lakh candidates applied for it and about 4.51 lakh appeared for the examination.
Of these, 16,933 qualified for the main examination held in December last year and 16,286 appeared for it.
The result of the main examination was declared on March 13 and 3,308 candidates qualified for the personality test held from April 27 to June 30 .
A total of 1,236 candidates cleared the test and were recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and various Central services.
