ATU appeals for peace

Aimol Tribe Union, Manipur being a peace loving nation which has distinct custom, culture and tradition has appealed to all civil bodies for full co-operation to maintain peace in the conflict situation and settle together in harmonious way so that no discrimination as well as no interference could happen in the affairs of the community.
A press note released by Aimol Tribe Union, Manipur President RT Akhel said that Aimol was recognized under the Indian Constitution in People Right Act, 1950 as Aimol.
But one local newspaper on April 13, 2015 referred and enrolled the minority tribe as "Aimol Naga" under the leadership of Ex-President S Munhtoireng of four villages namely, Satu, Khunjai, Chingnunghut and Kumbirei.
Adding that S Sana was subjected to attempted murder by two persons who vandalized all things in his house.
The President also blamed that they all are responsible for all unwanted accident that had happened in Pallel area against the wishes of Aimol community.
Mentioning that it is highlighted in International Humanitarian Law that the civilians are to be protected in any circumstances the statement said some NSCN (IM) cadres controlled the above said four villages and also called meeting, collected signatures.
If anything untoward happened to Aimol community the responsibility shall be the four villages and master mind Aimol Naga (pro-Naga) leaders, it added.
