Political conference of Phungyar BCC: Dy CM reasserts hill-valley development

Hinting at inevitability for a secure atmosphere to expedite development in the hill districts, Deputy chief Minister Gaikhangam said that along with increasing number of police stations in the hills relevant process is underway to recruit 2000 police personnel.
Speaking as the chief guest at the one-day block level political conference of Phungyar Block Congress Committee at Tribal Research Institute, Chingmeirong today, Gaikhangam said that the Government is working on a specific plan for setting up requisite number of police stations in the hill areas within the 2013-14 fiscal year.
Terming as positive development over 18,000 youths joining the ongoing exercise to recruit 2000 constables for the hill districts, he conceded that written examinations could not be completed owing to inclement weather conditions.

Further stating that efforts are on for infrastructure development of SDO/BDO office complexes in the hill districts, Gaikhangam maintained that due process to overcome shortage of about 4/5000 personnel in the hill districts Government institutions would be initiated within the current fiscal.
Affirming that the Government of Manipur is committed to ensure egalitarian development throughout the State, he also called upon every section of the society to join and contribute their mite in ensuring success of the Look East Policy as Manipur stands to benefit immensely in case the Policy heads in the right direction.
Pledging judicious implementation of various flagship programmes launched by the Congress party, the Deputy CM also opined that time has come for every citizens to introspect prospect, capability and commitment of other political parties.
apart from Ministers, Congress MLAs, ADC functionaries and Phungyar Block Congress Committee members, AICC general secretary and party's Manipur in-charge Luizinho Faleiro and Rajya Sabha MP Rishang Keishing were also present at the conference.
