Congress keen to bring development from grassroots: Luzinho Faleiro

While appreciating the people of Manipur for supporting Congress Party to remain at the helm of power for three terms in a row, Zonal Organizational Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Northeast in-charge Luzinho Faleiro has stated that Congress Party is keen to bring all around development in the State right from the grassroots level.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of a one-day Block Level Political Conference organized by Phungyar Block Congress Committee at the auditorium of Tribal Research Institute, Chingmeirong here today.
Faleiro further said that Congress Party under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi has so much concern about the common people and they would do their best for the development of the State.
Faleiro maintained that Manipur is an important state for the Congress Party and he would meet top functionaries of the Party regarding the implementation of various flagship programmes of the UPA government meant for upliftment and welfare of the people.
The Congress government has taken up many landmark projects in the State including construction of new buildings of the historical Ema Markets, City Convention Centre, JNIMS, Tribal University and others, he noted.
The AICC leader further contended that the Congress Party has been facing challenges from all fronts while striving to bring all round development in the country.
Addressing the political conference, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said that Congress Party is a popular political party and it has been working dedicatedly for the welfare of the people.
He exhorted that people should have sense belongingness to the country and they should avoid unnecessary hatred and angst against their fellow countrymen.
Gaikhangam also preached for maintaining peace and harmony among different communities and move forward towards progress and development.
The State government is seriously concerned to bring equitable development in both hill and valley regions of the State, the Deputy Chief Minister added.
The political conference was also attended by IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Commerce and Industries Minister K Govindas, Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing, MLA Yamthong Haokip, MLA Preshow Shimray, President of Ukhrul DCC AS Shimreiyo, Chairman of Ukhrul ADC John Raleg and other workers of Congress Party.
