Imphal, July 17 2020:
Arts stream topper Khomdram Menaka, a student of TG Higher Secondary School aspires to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) after completing her graduation at DM College.
Menaka's father Khomdram Shyamkishor Singh passed away recently and her mother Kh (O) Shantibala Devi works as a muster roll sweeper at the Imphal Municipal Corporation.
Her mother said she struggles hard with her meagre earning and her daughter topping in the examination is 'still like a dream' to her.

A resident of Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai in Imphal West, Menaka said she studied two hours before going to school and another two hours after coming back from school.
She also took coaching classes to prepare for the exam.
She said considering her family's financial condition and the COVID-19 pandemic she has decided to study BA at DM College.
She also shared how bandh and blockade hindered in completing their syllabus.
But now she feels that the situation is improving.
