Health & Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh today appealed to the public to remain calm saying that maximum efforts are being undertaken to control the pandemic.
The Minister who is also the MLA of Keishamthong Assembly Constituency was speaking at the closing function of the Community Quarantine Centre opened at Kwakeithel Girls' High School under his supervision.
He said, for Keishamthong AC, a total of 170 inmates were lodged at Imphal College and Kwakeithel Girls' High School quarantine centres.
After the completion of their quarantine period, all the inmates at these two centres have been discharged after making sure that they tested negative.
Seven inmates also had tested positive at these two centres, he added.
Jayantakumar further said that with the improvement in the medical facilities and with more Covid testing kits, the State is now better placed to control the pandemic.
He also expressed gratitude to the frontline workers including doctors, nurses, volunteers and security personnel for their service.
