Landmark tree falls

Imphal, July 17 2020:
One of two historic peepal trees at Nandeibam Uku has fallen.
The landmark tree was found uprooted and fallen on July 15 morning.
According to the elders of Pebiya Pandit Leikai, the uprooted tree is more than 200 years old.
A 90-year-old elder recalled that his father used to tell stories relating to the two peepal trees when he was just a kid.
