Lamlai organization demands water share from Thoubal project

Demanding water share from the Thoubal Multipurpose Project an organization called Thoubal Multi Purpose Project Neglected Area Agricultural Development Organisation (TMPPNAAD) Lamlai today threaten to disturb the ongoing construction work of the project.
Speaking to the media persons, Telem Dara Singh, Secretary of the organisation said that the people of the Lamlai area had a big hope when the Thoubal Multi Purpose Project was laid foundation but unfortunately Lamlai was skipped from getting any beneficiary from the project.
In this regards, Meira Paibi, local clubs of 30 villages had staged a rally on October 9 and TMPPNAAD was formed, he added.
Telem Dara Singh also said that 10000 hectors of Lamlai area are facing acute shortage of water for agriculture and other activities for more than a decade.
With the availability of water source, the activities of the area could be increase and crores of income could be raise from the agriculture, etc, he added.
Telem Dara Singh further said that as the construction work of pipeline to provide water in Imphal and Thoubal had already began.
While doing so Pipe line for Lamlai area should be constructed.
If fails the TMPPNAAD will launch serious form of agitation.
