Imphal, October 12 2016: Hundred of aspirant candidates of� Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (main ) exam 2016 staged a rally demanding mass re-evaluation of the recently conducted exam under supervision of a separate independent body.

The rally kicked off at around 11 am from MPSC office of North AOC toward CM Bungalow by holding placards and banners with slogans "halt MPSC interview", "free and fair exam" and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.

The protestors were stopped by a police near PCTC oil depot near DM College gate.

After a brief confrontation the student demonstrators were drive inside the DM College campus.

Four representatives of the protestors were allowed to submit the memorandum to the Chief Minister.

Speaking to the media person one of the representative Mangsatabam Pamheiba said that the examination was conducted from 4th of September to 23rd September with the compulsory general studies papers on the last day of exam.

Surprisingly the result of 1130 candidate was declared on 4th October within a short period of 10 days.

Each candidate appeared in 8 papers of 300 marks each in the main exam.

Altogether 1130x8=9040 papers were evaluated in such a short period of time.�

He questioned on how the MPSC could managed to evaluate the 9040 paper within such a short span.

He further added that how can the invigilator bring extra paper and provide it to the student even there was an instruction on the answer sheets "No extra papers will be allowed under any circumstance".

The rule has been has been flouted at the whims and fancies of the MPSC.

He further said that as per the UPSC norms 33% is the qualifying criteria for the general English however MCSCC (main) exam boost 40 % mark as qualifying criteria for the general English in a sudden notification.

They demand in the memorandum are including mass re-evaluation under supervision of separate and independent body other then MPSC, halt the interview process to be commenced from 17th October 2016 until the proper steps are then to rectify the discrepancies, introduction of much needed reforms in MPSC and introduction of scaling process in evaluation of the different optional subject.
