11th Manipur State League : AIM register narrow 3-2 win over FC Zalen

Defending champion AIM, Khabam registered a narrow 3-2 win over FC Zalen, Sadar Hills today in a thrilling match of the 11 th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangj eibung.
Today result propelled reigning champion AIM to the top of the league table with 18 points in seven games.
N Pritam of AIM who hit a brace was sent off in the additional time after being cautioned twice.
Wary of each other, both sides got off to the ground cautiously.
FC Zalen defenders faced tough time defending against the onslaught of their opponents which was well orchestrated and coordinated by midfielder E Abocha.
FC Zalen, who are eager to add another full points by winning the match today, made attempts to run riots against their opponents' citadel.
Md Fazuruddin Shah of AIM capped a dominant first-half display by slamming home the opener in the 24th minute through a ball that was cleared by AIM defenders.
The Sadar Hills side scurried to find the equaliser.
However, the first half ended with AIM taking a 1 -0 lead.
N Pritam extended the lead of AIM in the 56th minute through an assist from E Abocha.
Bedeenpar Moyon of AIM reduced the goal difference as his superb header through a comer kick by Patrick Kamei found the net of their opponents in the 67th minute.
However, in a span of three minutes, N Pritam scored his second to complete the scoring for AIM.
Pritam was yellow-carded as he took of his shirt while celebrating his second goal.
AIM gave more importance to maintain the defence line after scoring three goals.
However, Ng Bedeenpar Moyon was at it again in the 90th minute.
The Sadar Hills side however failed to restore parity and ceded full points to AIM.
N Pritam was sent off after he was cautioned for the second time for committing a foul in the additional time of the match.
The scheduled match between NEROCA FC and USA was postponed.
