Imphal, July 01 2021:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has greeted and expressed gratitude to doctors on the occasion of National Doctor's Day 2021 .
In his message, the Chief Minister stated that the day is celebrated on July 1 to mark the birth and death anniversary of renowned physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy and to show gratitude to all doctors for selfless work and dedication towards serving humanity.
The day holds a special significance considering the fact how our doctors and physicians are working round the clock to help the State fight the pandemic, the CM said.
Doctors have been facing hard times during the pandemic, trapped in the uncomfortable personal protective equipment (PPE) for hours every day, treating Covid and non Covid patients, the CM noted.
They forget their own fears and pain while healing patients, putting their own lives at risk while cutting themselves off from their families and loved ones for days, the CM said while expressing grief that during the long fight against Covid, the country has lost over 1,500 doctors to the pandemic.
"Today, let us resolve to make their task easier by keeping oneself safe from the pandemic.
Let us resolve to provide them a safe environment to enable them to deliver the services expected from the medical fraternity," said the CM while praying to God to give doctors more strength and enable them to continue rendering their invaluable services.
