National Doctor's Day observed widely

Acknowledging the selfless service and dedication of doctors, National Doctor's Day was observed by various organisations across the State.
It may be noted that July 1 is observed as National Doctor's Day every year to mark the birth and honour the contributions of renowned physician and former West Bengal Chief Minister Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.
Rotary Club of Imphal joined in observing the day where the members of the club visited RIMS and handed over sweets for the doctors on Covid duty at the hospital through Professor Dr H Priyoshakhi Devi, Medical Superintendent and Professor Dr Sanjib Nepram, Deputy MS.During the event, president of the Club, Devkumar Thoudam thanked all doctors and health care workers who are tirelessly serving the people during the difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic, said a press release by the Club.
Meanwhile, Rotary Club of Imphal celebrated the first day of Rotary New Year (which starts from July 1) 2021-22 by visiting Children Homes at Dewlahland and Tera Bazar and handed over sanitizers, face masks, vitamins and edible items.
Celin Digital also observed National Doctor's Day in a simple ceremony held at the Mini Studio of Celin Digital adhering to Covid SOPs today.
Phajoubam Lanajit Singh, National Awardee and Ksh James Singh, field publicity officer of Celin Digital attended the event as the chief guest and president respectively, said a press release by Celin Digital.
Speaking on the occasion, Phanjoubam Lanajit said that one should uphold the role of doctors with high regard who are serving the mankind selflessly and their dedicated service becomes more significant amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic where many doctors have succumbed to the pandemic while attending those who have been affected by COVID-19 .
On this, Dr RK Lenin Singh, HOD Psychiatry, RIMS was honoured with a shawl and a gift.
Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) also sent in their wishes on the occasion of National Doctor's Day and extended gratitude to the doctors who have been serving the people altruistically.
In a press release, MSF thanked all doctors rendering service to all by risking their lives during this grim situation of COVID-19 pandemic and appealed to all to acknowledge their work and do whatever possible to help and motivate them.
Further the student body appealed to the Government to take up special measures and policies for the welfare of doctors.
Meanwhile, BJP State executive member Soraisam Ongbi Kebi paid homage to doctors who are involved in the fight against the pandemic in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC as a part of National Doctor's Day celebration today.
She also thanked all the doctors of the state for their service.
Soraisam Ongbi Kebi, intending candidate from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC in the upcoming general election, distributed the gifts to doctors at PHC Mekola and Asian Hospital in Kwakeithel today.
Speaking to the media, she said one should show respect to doctors who are working fearlessly even during the pandemic to save lives and the patient paty sometimes blamed the doctors for failure to save lives, but we should remember they are doing everything in their capacity to save the precious lives.
