Organisations back Covid-19 vaccination drive

Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has extended its wholehearted support to any initiative taken up by the authority concerned for vaccinating the people to contain the pandemic.
MMWO assured of its cooperation during a meeting chaired by deputy commissioner of Imphal West and attended by various officials, medical experts and Muslim CSOs to discuss steps to inoculate Muslim population of the district on Wednesday.
The body also appealed to elders, experts, MLAs, Zilla Parishad, pradhans, councillors and members belonging to Muslim community to help in this regard.
MMWO stated that medical experts have cleared the Covid vaccines for human use.
While asking miscreants to stop spreading fake news and rumours on social media and appealing to the public to take the pandemic seriously, the organisation also called upon the Muslim community to take the vaccine and save themselves and their family members from the virulent disease.
Meanwhile, along with social activist Sapam Kangleipal, Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup (LMTL) on Tuursday encouraged people who came out for Covid-19 vaccination at different parts of Lamlai assembly constituency by handing out hand sanitizers to them.
In a release, LMTL stated that it is organising programmes to encourage vaccine goers as the some public figures in Lamlai AC have been remaining dormant when the people need them the most.
