Imphal, July 01 2021:
Chief spokesperson of BJP State Unit, Ch Bijoy has categorically stated that the party is preparing to contest the next Assembly elections without assistance from any alliance partners.
Briefing media persons at Nityaipat Chuthek today, Bijoy continued that the party is putting in all efforts to win at least 40 seats, as targeted by late former party president S Tikendra, in the 2022 Assembly elections.
Most of the party leaders have agreed on contesting the next Assembly elections independently, but the final resolution is yet to be taken, he added.
Saying that BJP National general secretary (organisation), BL Santhosh landed in Imphal today on a three day visit, Bijoy maintained that Santhosh will review the Covid relief measures taken up in the State during his stay.
It is reported that BL Santhosh has met Chief Minister N Biren Singh and other BJP leaders and discussed ways to flatten the Covid curve in Manipur.
Ch Bijoy, on the other hand, stated that changes in the party organisation is not likely anytime soon.
