Daily positivity rate continues to be above 10 percent
508 more test positive out of 4460 tested

Manipur continues to return daily positivity rate in the double digit with 11.4 percent with 508 returning positive results out of 4460 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
This is despite the more than 60 days of lockdown, restrictions, curfew, containment tag etc.
The 508 positive results include 8 from the paramilitary personnel.
The 11.4 percent positivity rate is way higher than the WHO stipulated below 5 percent to open up.
According to a statement issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 508 persons including 8 paramilitary personnel tested positive during the last 24 hours.
The positive persons were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (35), District Hospitals (299) and other testing centres ((163) .
In a statement, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the 500 positive cases from the general people were drawn from Imphal East (116), Imphal West (198), Thoubal (28), Bishnupur (38), Kakching (42), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (34), Chandel (7), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (11), Jiribam (1), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi (7) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, claimed the statement.
Twelve more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Rooms quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
The deceased were from Imphal West (1), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2), Jiribam (1) and Churachandpur (1).They passed away at RIMS (3), JNIMS (4), Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (1), MSF Little Flower Hospital (1), District Hospital Churachandpur (1) and District Hospital Jiribam (1).On the other hand 578 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
They were discharged from home isolation (251), RIMS (13), JNIMS (9), CCCs (117), CHCs (188).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached the 70 thousand mark with 70,298.The number of recovered cases is 63,206 with active cases at 5930.The number of people who have got the vaccination shot is 6,66,625 with 83,445 having received the second shot as well.
