Lamka, October 26 2013 :
The second day of the 3rd World Zomi Convention concluded with the crucial phase of intellectual discussions and discourses through seven seminars from educated personalities broadly on the prospects of Zo people residing across the globe.
The convention telecast live through a regional satellite television channel, for the first time in the State, and through the web entered the crucial stage late yesterday with three seminars conduc-ted at YPA Hall.
Today the seminar resum-ed with four sessions delibe- rating on issues as varied as rights to challenges and opportunities.
As part of the convention's effort to maintain spirituality at its core worship services across the township, in several churches, were set into motion since last night.
The exercise will continue tonight and the Convention will conclude tomorrow with a vale- dictory programme attended by the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.
Organisers said the scanty but continuous downpour that has gripped the district since evening yesterday has compelled them to hold the valedictory programme indoor, against the earlier schedule at Lamka public ground.
Several top social leaders of the State will deliver their address tomorrow and it will wind up with a soul touching note much like the main day with the rendition of songs by renowned choir groups and artistes.
Tribute to departed leaders who held the Zo people closer to their heart than anything else -any worldly things, will be an emotional moment as well.
