Missing JBC recovered, driver found dead buried

Imphal, October 26 2013 :
The body of Meisnam Devraj alias Tom (24) of Khurai Sajor Leikai, whose whereabouts had remained unknown since the morning of October 14 after he and his JCB were hired by two unknown persons after paying Rs 3000 in advance for dredging some canal was reportedly found buried at Sheijang village near Tupul in Tamenglong district today evening.
A team of Imphal West district police, which has been on the trail and investigating into the case, also recovered the missing JCB.
Police believed that his own JCB had been used for digging up the earth for burying the body of Devraj.
The development has come about following the questioning of two persons arrested by the police yesterday.
A large team of police force led by SP of Imphal West district K Jayanta rushed to Seijang village to retrieve the body today evening and the deposited the same at the mortuary of RIMS hospital late in the night today.
It may be noted here that various intense agitations including imposition of bandh and sit-in protest demonstration had been resorted by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the suspicious disappearance of Devraj, thus, crippling normal life in the State.
The JAC had given three days' deadline to the State Government for tracing the missing person .
But the deadline expired without any positive response.
