Found dead

An excavator (JCB) driver, whose whereabouts remained unknown for the last many days, has been found dead at an isolated spot near Saichang village on the Imphal-jiribam road but falling under Senapati district.
The victim Maisnam Devraj alias Ton of Khurai Sajor Leikai went missing since October 14 after he was hired by some individuals for a specific work from the Chanam Pukhri Mapal residence of one Chanam Anikumar, owner of the excavator.
Devraj was last seen at the work site located at Kajipat.
According to a police source, investigation into the case led to the arrest of one accused yesterday followed by arrest of another two suspects today.
Of the arrested persons two apprehended today have been identified as Shyamchand of Thanga and Chalamba of Ningombam, while police did not reveal identity of the third, said to have been rounded up yesterday in between Tupul and Noney.
On questioning of the trio, police came to know about Devraj being killed and his body buried at Saichang.
Along with the recovery of Devraj's body, a police team also traced the missing excavator at Irang area.
The main suspect in the case is said to be evading arrest, even as the police source conveyed that all possible measures are being adoipted to apprehend the individual.
