Indigenous Brothers' Meet held

The League of Fourth World People Kangleipak (LFWPK) has organised its 11th Indigenous Brothers' Meet 2013 along with the commencement of a two-day seminar on the topic "Status of language and literacy of all ethnic communities of Kangleipak" at MDU Hall here today.
Chief guest of the occasion, Minister Social Welfare and Cooperation, AK Mirabai Devi said Manipur is like a mini India inhabited by various colourful communities.
Every community has the responsibility for the betterment of the society.
Observing that it is one's responsibility to preserve one's culture and tradition, the Minister urged all the communities in the State to stand united in order to achieve the goal of development and prosperity.
She further said that the Government never discriminates hills or valley people, but they are one in the eyes of the Govt.However, it is not healthy to resort to threat in order to achieve something.
The Govt is for the people and if they do not like the policies made by the Govt, necessary changes can be made.
As the State has limited resources, any work or project has been delayed, Mirabai added.
Today's occasion was also graced by RV Mingthing, Former Minister; Mangpu Karong Kom, President LFWPK; and Vice Presidents of LFWPK, Hungyo Mera Tangkhul, LN Issac Aimol, Mangangcha Keisham Ibomcha and Th Thumbu Maram as dignitaries.
