ISBD plants saplings at Kangla

Imphal, May 06 2022:
Staffers of Institute of Bioresources and Sustain able Development (IBSD), Takyelpat, Imphal planted around 50 fruit bearing plants inside the sacred Kangla Fort as part of its fortnight observance of Swachhata Pakhwada-2022.The tree plantation programme led by senior scientist of the institute Dr Sudripta Das was participated by other scientists, students and other staff members.
The Swachhta Pakhwada launched by central government, is a fortnight-long programme observed to ensure mass participation of citizens in Swachhta activities and to truly transform Swachh Bharat into a citizen's movement.
IBSD kicked off the observance on May 2 with cleaning, collection and proper disposal of wastes including plastics in and ground its campus and Manipur Science Centre, Takyelpat under the guidance of its director Prof Pulok Kumar Mukherjee.
The observance will continue till May 15 with different events/programmes in its Imphal office and other Regional Centre located in Sikkim, Shillong and Aizawl, said a release.
