Tap water supply in Moreh likely soon

With laying of water pipes in Moreh town under augmentation of Moreh water-supply scheme for promoting tourism under NESIDS almost complete, it is likely that tap water supply in the border town could begin within this month.
According to Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Tengnoupal Division AE Yumnam Basanta Singh, construction of three water reservoir tanks having total capacity of 24.80 lakh litres is almost complete and these reservoirs could start supplying water to different localities of Moreh within this month.
The water reservoir constructed at Moreh Ward No.1 Home Guard Veng has the Capacity of 6.75 lakh litres while the reservoir at Moreh Ward No 9 Haokip Veng can store 11.30 lakh litres.
Another reservoir at Moreh Ward No 8 Helipad has the capacity of 6.75 lakh litres.
These three water reservoirs could cover the entire Moreh town and water supply could start within this month, he informed.
