Arrested UDC sent to three days police custody

Upper Division Clerk (UDC) Laishram Raghumani of the Employment Exchange, Imphal West, who was arrested on the charge of demanding bribe money from job seekers, has been remanded to three days in police custody for further questioning.
Raghumani, 57, son of late Kali of Nambol bazar was arrested by a team of vigilance and anti-corruption police station on Tuesday and produced before the court of special judge (PS), Imphal West on Wednesday with a prayer for remand.
He allegedly made monetary demand from candidates who came to submit application forms for recruitment to posts of follower, constable and head constable in the police department and accordingly, he was arrested after a detailed investigation.
After hearing statement of the special PP and examining materials on record, the court granted the remand prayer and sent Raghumani to three days police custody for further questioning.
