FRM along Indo-Myanmar Border suspended

Kamjong, July 15 2021:
In pursuance of an order dated June 29 of Deputy Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur, the existing Free Movement Regime (FRM) along Indo-Myanmar Border under the jurisdiction of Kamjong District has been suspended for a period of 1 month with immediate effect.
The District Magistrate Kamjong, in a statement informed that movement of people and goods across the border has been suspended with immediate effect until further orders while adding that violators would be booked under relevant laws and rules.
It mentioned that the order was issued in view of the Covid scenario in the State with an average of over 500 Covid positive cases daily and in consideration of the likelihood of possible risk of spreading COVID-19 from across the border to the District.
