RNCM convenes meeting with telecom operators

In the wake of erratic cellular networks in Tamenglong area, the Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) convened a meeting with the cellular network providers operating in Tamenglong area today.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Airtel, Jio, BSNL and leaders of RNCM & RNYO Tamenglong Luangrian.
Addressing the meeting, Ramkung, president of Rongmei Naga Council Manipur highlighted the issues faced by the subscribers of different service providers in the area stating that the companies have been looting public money by not providing proper network even though they have charged full amount of money for their services.
The service providers are not concerned about the strength of the network as they are guaranteed the full amount of money recharged by the subscribers, he added.
Ramkung stated that people are in need of the internet to do any official work today.
Many students have been missing their online classes and the working professionals have also been missing their work due to the poor quality of the network.
The people are also facing difficulties in registering themselves for Covid vaccination during this health crisis, he added.
During the meeting, the telecom companies were asked to provide better connections, upgrade the microwave link as the number of subscribers have increased manifolds.
Laying of OFC must be expedited and sufficient numbers of manpower should be posted.
Rongmei Naga Council Manipur further appealed to the Chief Minister and the telecom companies to look into the matter and improve their network services especially during the pandemic.
