JAC of NH 2 Expansion appeals

Imphal, June 09 2021:
Joint Action Committee (JAC) of NH-2 Expansion Affected Land Owners appealed the Government and authorities concerned to materialise their demands at the earliest.
In a press release, the JAC enlisted a set of demands which are as follows - To increase the rate of homestead and agricultural lands of the villages in NH-2 expansion, to set the rate of standing property at private and stateland as per the current standard, to arrange alternative arrangements for those who are rendered homeless due to the expansion and to appoint an arbitrator at the earliest.
The JAC warned of various democratic form of protest if their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
It may be noted that the affected land owners are mainly from Mantri Leikai Khonghampat, Maharabi, Sekmai, Kanglatongbi, Tendongyan and Pheidinga.
Though a memorandum was already submitted earlier to Chief Minister and authorities concerned regarding the grievances of the land owners but no measures have been taken up till date.
