Thoubal, June 09 2021:
Amidst the suffering brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic including imposition of the curfew, farmers of Langathel in Thoubal district are providing much need assistance to the people in the form of fresh produces such as watermelon, pumpkin, cucumber, chilli, etc., regardless of the food producers facing serious issues.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle on Wednesday, one of the farmers conveyed that the rainfall this year has been significantly reduced.
On top of this, imposition of the curfew over the lockdown has disheartened the farmers as there is no means of selling their produces.
Many were left frustrated after their hopes of saving some money from last year was shattered by the second wave of the pandemic.
