Imphal, June 29 2022:
Appreciating chief minister N Biren's tireless effort in the 'Fight Against Drugs' and promote peaceful coexistence in the state, Kuki Reformation Forum (KReF) has appealed to the CM to also fight against 'hate speeches' so as to make Manipur a better place to 'Live and Let Live' for all Manipuris including Manipuri Nagas, Kukis and Meitei Pangals, like decades ago.
In a letter submitted to the CM, KReF urged the CM to respect the sentiments of the public by the withdrawing the state cabinet's resolution of June 22, for conducting gram Panchayat election in the Kangpokpi district's Koubru Laikha, Toribari, Kalapahar and Santabari Parasain localities by clustering these pockets under Imphal West-1 CD Block.
The CM must also exclude two tribal villages of Saiton and Ngairong of Churachand-pur district from the proposed merger into Bishnupur district under Kumbi assembly constituency for such a move will be detrimental to life and livelihood of the tribal people, it said.
KReF further conveyed that they are confident of the CM's able leadership, broadmindedness and honesty and as people's CM and father of the state, to reconsider his decisions for the love and in the interest of the public.
