Subroto football: Heirok, Utlou schools to meet in U-14 boys' final as Seikhor, CT schools dash for U-17 title

Heirok Hr Sec School (Thoubal) and Utlou High School (Bishnupur) will square off in the U-14 boys' final as Seikhor Govt High School (Ukhrul) set up U-17 boys' title clash with CT Hr Sec School (Imphal West) in the State Inter School Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament 2022.Heirok Hr Sec School (Thoubal) enjoyed a 5-0 win over St Peter's Hr Sec School (Chandel) in the first semifinal of the U-14 boys' competition.
L Bikramjit put his team in front in the 12th minute and Sanathoi converted a penalty kick to double the advantage in the 28th minute before an own goal (33') by Dilbung Rengwin further stretched Heirok school's lead.
Then T Likson found the fourth goal in the 48th minute as L Bikramjit scored his second and team's fifth goal in the 57th minute to put the game beyond the reach of their opponents.
In the U-14 boys' second semifinal, Utlou High School (Bishnupur) claimed a 3-1 victory over Mt Zion Sr Sec School (Senapati).
Steven Mangte opened the scoring for the Utlou school team after nine minutes, O Abinash Singh made it 2-0 in the 37th minute and K h Alex tripled the lead in the 51st minute before Manehnii reduced the deficit for his team in the 55th minute.
After conceding, the Utlou school boys never relinquished their 3-1 advantage to earn a smooth passage to the final.
The first U-17 boys' semifinal match saw CT Hr Sec School (Imphal West) over come Kinship High School (Churachandpur) in a penalty shootout.
The two teams remained tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time and the game went into the penalty shootout where the CT school boys held their nerves to outscore their opponents 5-4.Ranjan, Annaroy, Kheljit, Malemnganba and Molex made not mistake in converting their shots to help their team reach the final.
Earlier, Kamgoumang gave CT Hr Sec School the lead in the 24th minute but Limkhothang drew level for Kinship High School in the 37th minute and that forced the match to be decided by spot kicks.
In the second semifinal match, Seikhor Govt High School (Ukhrul) registered an easy 4-1 win over Education Training School (Kangpokpi).
Vs Thotkadhar (10', 53') and N Jarish (16', 27') scored a double each for the Seikhor school team as Paogouthang (29') netted a consolation goal for his side.
Both U-14 and U-17 boys' final matches will take place on Thursday, June 30 at Astro Turf, Khuman Lampak.
