Imphal East district police seizes foreign liquor

Personnel of Imphal East district police reserve line recovered IMFL from a mini truck at Lamlong.
In commendation of the team's achievement Imphal East SP M Pradip assured cash reward and appreciation letter to the personnel.
According to police sources, at about 12 noon Wednesday, under the supervision of Imphal East district police reserve line OC W Dhirajkumar, a team led by head constable M Heman Meitei along with VDF personnel N Anil Singh, AK Raju Meitei and Y Borish Singh conducted frisking near Lamlong Bridge during which a white coloured TATA ACE Mint (MN 06 LA 3309) approached from Pangei side in a suspicious manner.
The police stopped the mini truck and upon checking it found 2400 cans of 500 ml kingfisher beer, 228 bottles of OC blue (750 ml), 456 bottles of OC blue (375ml) and 72 bottles of Sterling Reserve (375ml).Two persons identified as Yumnam Johnson Singh (26) son of (L) Joybabu of Khonghampat currently residing at Khurai Thangjam Leikai and Chandrama Sah (30) son of Suraj of Ramnagar in Bihar, presently residing at Majorkhul were arrested and handed over to Excise Station, Porompat along with the seizure for further legal action.
While speaking to the media, SP M Pradip informed that the district police have begun functioning in a way that the public may gain trust and respect the police.
This will also create a better relationship between the police and the public, he said.
Appreciating the action of the police personnel involved in seizure of the liquor, he assured that the personnel will be awarded with cash and appreciation letter.
