HC stays order

The High Court of Manipur has stayed the State Home Guards Commandant's order that reinstated the sacked Battalion Commander of Thoubal.
In a statement, Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association said that Battalion Commander of Thoubal Md Addulhei was sacked by the State Home Guards Commandant on September 23 last for indulging in many wrongful activities including deduction of Rs 2000 each from the monthly salary of 243 personnel.
However, he was again reinstated by the State Home Guards Commandant on October 7, the statement said.
Challenging the said order, the association filed a petition at the High Court, the statement said and added that the Court stayed Abdulhei's reinstatement on October 13 .
The association urged the Government to check different wrongful activities being witnessed at the State Home Gaurds.
Meanwhile, another petition seeking increment of Home Guards' salary at par with IRB and police is still pending at the High Court, the statement said.
