Imphal, May 15 2015 :
Junior doctors of JNIMS, Porompat on Friday announced they will go on a three-day mass casual leave from May 18 to push the demand for reservation of PG seats in the hospital for non-PG in-service doctors. In a representation to the JNIMS Director the junior doctors said the notification issued by the Manipur Health Services Director calling for counselling under the category of sponsorship and open category is 'highly discriminatory.' The representation said the junior doctors have been deprived of the PG entrance exam at RIMS and added that they consider the imperativeness to undergo Post Graduation in the respective fields when Post Graduation seats are created at JNIMS under the MCI recommendation.
In view of the above points, the representation said the junior doctors want PG reservation seats at JNIMS exclusively for the non-PG in-service doctors of JNIMS till the completion of respective Post Graduation of non-PG in-service doctors in their respective departments.
It urged the director to revoke the official notification and said all junior doctors will on a three-day mass casual leave from May 18 over the demand.
