KSO Sadar Hills calls 24 hrs shutdown

In connection with the alleged assault of KSO Sadar Hills general secretary by Police Commando on March 3 at Kalapahar, the KSO Sadar Hills has decided to impose 24 hours total shutdown in Kangpokpi district from 5 am of March 7 till 5 am of March 8 .
The KSO Sadar Hills, backed up by its general headquarters', demanded removal of police commandos from the hill areas and initiation of appropriate action upon the commando personnel involved in assaulting the general secretary of KSO Sadar Hills within two days.
K Songreng Kom, spokesperson of KSO Sadar Hills said that as the Government and authorities concerned have neglected their appeal to initiate appropriate action upon the commando personnel who assaulted their general secretary without any reason and remove police commandos from the hill areas.
"We have decided in an emergency meeting with our federating units today to impose 24 hours total shutdown from 5 am of March 7 till 5 am of March 8 .
All transport services, business establishments, Government institutions, etc shall be completely closed during the total shutdown, he added.
"In case the Government and authorities concerned fail to deliver our demand even after resorting to total shutdown, we will decide further course of agitation which will be intensified in the strongest form in collaboration with the public and various other civil society organizations", he said.
He recalled that the general secretary of KSO Sadar Hills was assaulted by police commandos at Kalapahar on March 3 allegedly without any reason as he returned home after monitoring the construction work of KSO Sadar Hills administrative office building at Kangpokpi which resulted in rupture of his eardrum.
While recalling the police commando personnel's disrespectful statement of KSO and civil society organizations, the KSO Sadar Hills also said that they would let the police commando know and hear "the music of KSO and the civil society organizations" .
The spokesperson also appealed to the general public and transporters to cooperate with them during the total shutdown.
