Imphal, March 05 2022:
BJP will emerge victorious in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election and form the new state government, asserted Hiyanglam AC BJP candidate Dr Y Radheshyam.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle after casting his vote in the second phase of the election on Saturday, Dr Radheshyam expressed firm belief that he will win the elections with a huge margin of votes.
He then said that repair of all inter-village roads in the constituency has been completed, while the repair of Indo-Burma Sugnu Road, which was delayed due to enforcement of model code of conduct, will resume after the polls.
Responding to questions on whether BJP will form the government, Dr Radheshyam contended that BJP will win absolute majority and form the new state government.
He then said that if he is assigned any responsibility under the new government, he will fulfil it to his level best.
BJP candidate in Lilong AC Antas Khan also claimed that he will emerge victorious with more vote margin than he received in the by-poll held in the constituency around a year back.
He also said that BJP would get absolute majority and form the next government on its own.
The candidate expressed elation that there was no incident of violence in all the polling stations of Lilong AC and electors exercised their franchise.
Voting in Lilong assembly constituency of Thoubal district ended without any untoward incident on Saturday.
Large number of electors both male and female lined up in long queues from early morning till late afternoon at all the 44 polling stations of the constituency and exercised their franchise peacefully.
Altogether five candidates are vying for Lilong AC seat and they are Yumkhaibam Antas Khan of BJP, Syed Anwar Hussain of INC, Md Abdul Nasir of JDU and Independent candidates Abdul Manan and Md Irshad Hussain.
When media persons tried to contact candidates of the constituency to enquire about the election, none could be contacted except Antas Khan.
