Many appeal and pray for peace in state

Expressing concern over the present restive situation in the state, Santhel Club and Jamiat-ul-Ulema organised a mass prayer (Duwa) to Allah for restoration of peace at Santhel Idigah ground on Wednesday.
Informing this in a release, Peace Restoration Committee, Santhel conveyed that its convener Ch Lu-kuma during the mass prayer pro-gramme made it clear that there will be no winners in communal conflict.
Moreover, it has caused tremendous inconveniences to destitute people and students.
He also appealed to MLAs, ministers and CSOs of both communities in conflict to pacify their people and stop the conflict immediately.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Chris-tian Organisation informed that it convened an emergency meeting at its secretariat office, Langol to express deep concern and anguish over the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
It shared solidarity and sym-pathy to all the innocent victims and family members of both the communities who have lost their lives, properties and presently staying in relief camps due to the riot.
AMCO will constantly make ev-ery effort and pray for early recon-ciliation between the conflicting communities, it continued, while appealing for immediate cease-fire, stop of arson and destruction of properties.
Appreciating home minister Amit Shah for his untiring effort to resolve the present conflict and to restore normalcy in Manipur within 15 days, the release said that the assurance of restoring the bond of mutual relationship of hill and valley again in Manipur by Home Ministry is worth admiration and highly anticipated.
Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) in a release ap-pealed to state and central govern-ments to take up strong measures so as to ensure that peace and normalcy is restored in the state.
Stating that people are all aware of the narco- terrorism and the acts of some leaders who are sponsoring the narco-terrorist activities in disrupting the unity of Manipur, AMMIK asserted that despite the attacks on the civilians by Kuki militants, they will surely be defeated.
The release said that AMMIK will join in fighting those trying to disrupt unity and integrity of Manipur and will support all the movements for the protection of Manipur.
