Centre deputes 24 doctors to state

Altogether 24 doctors working at different medical institutions run by the Central government have been sent on deputation to Manipur to ensure enhanced healthcare facilities and services to people of the state.
Under - secretary Jeetendra Kumar Jangid of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (NE section) has sent a written com-munique in this regard to chief secretary Vineet Joshi.
Of the 24 doctors, 12 are from RIMS Imphal, eight from AIIMS Guwahati and four from NEI - GRIHMS Shillong.
Those deput-ed from RIMS Imphal are Dr L Chinglensana (surgery), Dr Rahul Hidangmayum (psychiatry), Dr Th Satyakumar(paediatric , Dr Laikhuram Malemnganba sur-gery 01), Dr H Dhwijaraj Sharma (medicine), Dr Biswanath Kon-jengbam (urology), Dr Y Ajit (Obs & gynaecology), Dr Dayananda Kshetriya (casualty), Dr Long-jam Anil (surgery), Dr M Amarjit (paediatric), Dr Laishram Guddu (plastic surgery) and Dr L Bish-wanath (Obs & gynea).
The communique also informed all the deputed doctors to report to Manipur chief secretary, who will decide place of posting for teams of four doctors.
Meanwhile, agency report said that in view of the violence in Ma-nipur, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Man-daviya on Wednesday deployed six teams of doctors in the state.
In a statement, the Ministry said, "Ministry of Health, under the di-rection of Minister Mandaviya has deployed several teams of doctors to Manipur with immediate effect." The Ministry said that six teams of doctors will support the state to provide health facilities that have been adversely impacted due to the ongoing strife.
