UCM calls for upholding tradition

While highlighting the need to carry on with the tradition of every community preserved by the ancestors, United Committee Manipur (UCM) president Joychandra Konthoujam has said that one can clearly show their identity when they follow their tradition and culture.
In a release, UCM IPR secretary Leishemba Lamaba informed that 'Welcome to Annual Traditional and Cultural Day' was held at Wairangba village, Tamenglong on Sunday with UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam, village authority vice chairman Dinthuilung Panmei, UCM secretary general Ng Deba Meetei as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Joychandra Konthoujam conveyed UCM's firm resolve in bringing harmony and prosperity among communities and that every community irrespective of large or small should be allowed to avail their rights fully.
He stressed the need of helping one another, enjoying together and strengthening the bond of love among the communities.
Joychandra assured of exerting pressure on the departments concerned so that the welfare schemes of the government reach the remote village and benefit the targeted section of the society.
