Ex-MLA Surchandra holds poll rally

Former Kakching MLA Y Surchandra has said that he will contest the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election as the candidate of the political party which would form the next government.
Surchandra made this announcement during a public rally organised by people of Kakching AC in his support on Monday.
However, he but did hot mention the party.
The rally participated by people from various parts of Kakching AC started from Surchandra's residence at Kakching Turel Wangma and culminated at the starting point after covering Kakching Makha Leikai Naodam bazar, Kakching bazar, Kakching Moirangthem Leikai and Kakching Mayai Leikai.
Addressing the gathering, Surchandra said that large number of people took part in the rally in acknowledgement of the development works he had executed during the 13 years as elected representative of the constituency.
The rally participated by around 10,000 people itself showed that people of Kakchiiig still love him, he said and expressed confidence of winning the up-coming election.
Manipur is filled with numerous problems and one of the problems is AFSPA and this draconian Act must go, Y Surchandra said and vowed to work for the welfare of the people of the state and Kakching if elected again in the upcoming election.
He also talked about other problems of the state including economy, drugs, education, agriculture and tourism.
