Imphal, January 03 2022:
As the election to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly draws nearer, the ruling BJP intensified its poll campaign in different assembly constituencies.
CAF&PD minister Thokchom Satyabrata conducted house campaign in polling station no.14/38 in Yaiskul assembly constituency on Monday.
While launching the campaign, the minister spoke about the development and welfare initiatives taken up by BJP governments both at the Centre and in the state, and called for public support to BJP in the 2022 election.
He also said that hill-valley relationship has improved significantly in the state under the BJP government.
On the other hand, deputy speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly and Mayang Imphal MLA Kongkham Robindro inaugurated newly renovated Ibudhou Ikop Ningthou Maru Nongshaba playground on Monday.
During the programme, Robindro said that BJP will get landslide victory in the 2022 election and called upon the people of Mayang Imphal constituency to be part of the development journey by supporting BJP in the election.
Thanking the people of the area for their contribution in renovating the playground, the MLA expressed hope that the playground will help in keeping the youth of the locality away from drugs and alcohol by diverting their attention to games and sports, and healthy lifestyle.
Ikop Ningthou Maru Nongsaba Sellungba Kh Tharongou, Uchiwa GP pradhan H Indrajit, ward member O Somolata and local elders attended the programme.
In Uripok assembly constituency, BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha president L Loteeka, who is preparing to contest the 2022 election, presented blankets to elderly people of Uripok Achom Leikai Mamang, Langol Punsikhul, Wangdrei, Aying Leikai, Iroishemba Maning and Mayai Leikai during different poll campaign meetings held in their respective areas on Monday.
She urged the people of the constituency to support her in the forthcoming election while emphasising on the need of electing more women representatives in the state assembly.
Another intending candidate of BJP in Uripok assembly constituency Khumbongmayum Suresh has said that none of the NPP candidates including deputy chief minister Y Joykumar will get elected in the 2022 state assembly election.
Attending a poll campaign meeting held at Langol Ningthou Leikai community hall on Monday, Suresh said that NPP will get no seats in the 2022 election considering its records in the present term in which the party has not provided any significant contribution to the coalition government.
Besides, NPP MLA Letpao Haokip has joined BJP and it will severely impact the party's vote share, he said.
He also said that Joykumar, despite being the deputy chief minister of the state, did nothing for the welfare, and development of Uripok assembly constituency.
Emergence of multiple intending candidates of BJP in the constituency is an outcome of Joykumar's failure in serving the people of Uripok AC, he added.
Asserting that BJP will bring inclusive development in the constituency if he got elected, he appealed to the people of Uripok assembly constituency to support BJP in the forthcoming election.
