Jiribam, June 02 2022:
A team of JCILPS Jiribam branch rounded up 16 non-locals who were found in posses -sion of invalid ILP passes and handed all of them to Jiribam police station.
All the 16 non locals were rounded up by the JCILPS team from in front of Jiribam Development Organisation office at Babupara while they were returning from Tamenglong on a Cruiser passenger vehicle Thursday afternoon.
While producing the non-locals in front of media persons, a functionary of JCILPS Jiribam branch said that ILP pass issued by Manipur government seems to be incomplete and non-locals entering the state too are not interested in seeking or renewing the pass.
Though given only 15 days to stay in the state, non-locals who were rounded up on Thursday in Jiribam stayed in the state for a long time without renewing the ILP pass, the JCILPS functionary pointed out, and stressed the need for effective implementation of the ILP system in every district of the state.
The functionary also appealed to officials in other districts to take up necessary steps to implement the ILP system effectively just like being done in Jiribam district.
