Imphal, August 25 2022: Unidentified miscreant(s) triggered a blast on the first floor of an under-construction house of one Khagembam Radhapriya at Keishamthong Hodam Leirak Maning on Wednesday.

Fortunately, there was no casualty in the explosion.

According to police, unidentified miscreant(s) triggered the explosion, suspected to be IED, around 6.30 pm.

Though the reason lot the bomb attack is yet to be ascertained, a case has been registered at Imphal police station, it added.

Meanwhile, condemning the bomb attack, Hodam Leirak Club and Yumjao Lairembi Meira Paibi Nupi Kanglup jointly organised a sit-in protest at Keishamthong Hodam Leirak Maning on Thursday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Hodam Leirak Club secretary Phurailatpam Harish condemned the bomb attack in residential area and said it has caused fear among the people.

While urging against repeating such act in the future, he also demanded to clarify who and why the attack was carried out.
