Assam Rifles conducts security meet

Imphal, October 19 2021:
Chassad Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted security meet at Nampisha and Chattrik village in Kamjong district from Oct 16 to 18 which was attended by village headmen, authorities and residents of Chattrik Khullen, Chattrik Khunou, Maokot, Chahong Khunou, Mollen, Nampisha, Kangpat Khunou, Thana, Kangpat Centre, Kangpat Khunou, Ningchow and Girihang villages.
During the meet, the role of village headman/secretary for security of the region was discussed, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a release, adding that the participants were exonerated to keep an eye in their respective villages and flag any nefarious activities such as transportation of arms, ammunition, explosives and contraband items.
They were also requested to inform about insurgents' movement/activities in their area and assist the security forces to bring peace and stability in the region, the PRO said.
Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) also organised a security meet with village chiefs & village authorities of Sangaikot sub-division in Churachandpur district on Tuesday to build synergy with the village authorities and sensitise them about prevailing security situation and various measures being taken by Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquility in the area.
They were further informed about various measures incorporated by Assam Rifles to maintain strict vigil against insurgents' and illegal activities and encouraged to promote vaccination of the populace in their respective areas against Covid-19.Altogether 25 village chiefs & village authorities of Sangaikot sub-division attended the meeting, added the PRO in another release.
