MOMA to home deliver veggies

An official team of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) led by its project director has reportedly bulk procured vegetables from farms in Bishnupur district for sale of the same to the consumers through home delivery agencies affiliated to MOMA.
According to information received here, chief minister N Biren advised MOMA officials to directly procure the vegetables from the district's farmers after learning about the hardships being faced by vegetable growers in different parts of Manipur through the media.
In acknowledgement of the farmers' outputs not able to reach the market due to the on-going curfew in the state, MOMA officials were despatched to ensure that the farmers' hard toil do not go to waste.
Subsequently, the MOMA team visited the fields of Kabowakching, Khoijuman and Kwaksiphai areas in Bishnupur district and procured 4.7 metric tonne of fresh vegetables on Tuesday.
These vegetables are informed to have been stored in the cold storage and preparations made to home deliver to the consumers through marketing agencies working with MOMA.
