Imphal, May 11 2021: Transporters and Drivers Council (TDC) has urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to vaccinate truckers on priority basis.

TDC is also submitting a representation regarding this to Chief Minis N Biren Singh and Chief Secretary, said its president H Ranjit.

Ranjit said, truckers and handymen ferrying essential commodities and others on National Highways should be vaccinated on priority basis.

They ferry goods from other States and are constantly at risk of contracting coronavirus.

To encourage them to work without fear, they should be given priority in vaccination, he said.

He also appealed to the truckers to follow the SOPs and other safety guidelines issued by the Government.
